The Fairfax at Embassy Row
The Fairfax at Embassy Row
Location & Parking
Built in 1927, The Fairfax at Embassy Row is located on a
tree-lined section of Massachusetts Avenue, surrounded by embassies. The
historic location has welcomed an array of U.S. presidents, congressmen,
dignitaries and celebrities through the years, and it went through a complete
renovation in 2008. The building kept its original Beaux Arts feel with
original wood paneling, wainscoting and crown molding, and it gained modern
amenities. Situated one block west of Dupont Circle's shops, restaurants and
nightlife, the immediate area surrounding the hotel is quiet in the evenings.
Guest Rooms
Guest rooms at The Fairfax at Embassy Row start at 250 square feet and feature traditional decor in tones of beige, yellow and soft green with cherry wood headboard and armoire, floral curtains, wallpaper and plaid chairs. All rooms have pillow-top mattresses, down comforters, Fili D’oro Italian linens, iPod docking stations, 42-inch flat-screen TVs and laptop safes.
Dining
The hotel was once home to The Jockey Club, a legendary D.C.
restaurant known for serving John and Jackie Kennedy, along with other notable
celebrities. Today, guests can enjoy a power breakfast in that same space at
The Capitol Room. There’s also the Fairfax Grille and Lounge which offers
American cuisine in a casual, wood-paneled setting.
Business
The Fairfax Embassy Row has six meeting spaces for business
events. The Ballroom is the largest space with 2,600 square feet available,
along with smaller room options. The hotel offers a sales and catering team to
help with planning the details for meetings, conferences and presentations.
